I am so excited to have some of the most gorgeous weddings booked for this upcoming summer and fall, so I’ve been thinking a lot about what I should wear as a photographer to these events.  I usually go with a black pant / top combo, but I’ve recently decided that I want my look to reflect more of my brand while still maintaining comfortability in my wardrobe.  I’ve decided to post some of my ideas here to share with those of you who are also wedding photographers.  Feel free to share ideas in the comments section too! I’m always searching for great outfit choices!

For a classic, summer-evening sophisticate wedding I love this dress by boden (1).  It offers a longer, clean line so when you have to bend or kneel during a wedding you won’t be showing anything inappropriate, but it still has a sophisticated shape.  I usually don’t love to show my arms, but in 100+ degree weather this July, I might have to let that go…. If not, I’ll bring along a light-weight, light gray sweater from J.Crew (2).  It might also be needed in inside air conditioning.  I think the most important factor in choosing an outfit is shoes.  Love these Tory Burch snake skin flats (3).  They offer inside padding and a flexible heel.  I like that you can mix and match and wear them with this navy dress or the black pant choice as well.  And I always love my Kelly Moore Libby Bag (4) that can hold all the lenses and equipment needed.  So excited! Let summer begin!

A few weeks ago I had the honor of photographing Bri.  We had such an amazing time designing the session, as we both wanted to pull in her love of biology, nature and yoga.  The day turned out perfectly as we had a bright but calm day and found all the perfect elements to highlight what is in her soul.  Bri is connected, reflective and caring.  She is an old soul -one who has amazing strength, intelligence and beauty.  Thanks for sharing all of that with me.

I’m a bit behind with my Mother’s Day post since we had the giveaway week but if you’re like my husband, you’ll be late to the buying game too and these hints might actually be helpful! A volunteer for Pink Ribbon Week and a participant in the Appalachian Service Project, Mackenzie – our Green Hope High School Senior Model- is no stranger to community service herself.  She’s on the Varsity Lacrosse and Cross Country teams, is President of her class, and is Vice-President of the Future Teachers of America.  She is a member of the National Honors Society, the National Spanish Honor’s Society, and the list goes on and on.  Really I am in awe of all the things these girls can do!  I’m not even sure where they find the time!  Mackenzie has such a glowing personality and it is such a pleasure to be working with her.
